We are Your Summer Transportation

GWTA DirectorWhen I was younger it was easy to tell when summer was approaching. The song “School’s Out for Summer” by Alice Cooper seemed to be blasted hourly on every rock radio station. This 1972 classic hit still brings back memories of summers past.

How are you spending your time away now that school is out for the summer? Do you have a job but no way to get there? Are you hanging around the house playing video games and watching TV because you don’t have a ride to the mall? Are you wishing you had your own car to get to the beach? GWTA can’t help you with the last question, but we can take you where you want to go in Goldsboro and Wayne County.

Summer is an excellent time to give GWTA a try. For a $1 fare, GWTA can take you to most job locations in Goldsboro. The bus goes to the Berkeley Mall and all other shopping centers. You can take the bus to Herman Park and have some fun there with your friends. Spend the day at the new W. A. Foster Recreation Center. Go to the Round-A-Bout Skating Center or the AMF Bowling Alley. While probably not on the top of your “to do” list, you can even go to the library to catch up on your summer reading.

GWTA buses run from 5:30 a.m. (yes, there is an a.m. in the summer) until 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Check out the system map and schedules on our website, or call 919-736-1374 for more information.

Enjoy a safe and fun summer, even though the song’s happy declaration that “school’s out forever” may not be true! Why not spend some of your time away from school enjoying the benefits of GWTA?

Thank you.
